The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources explains at a stakeholder meeting that it plans to conduct PFAS testing of 50 municipal water utilities but not the thousands of others that serve the rest of the state.

A coalition of 34 environmental and public health organizations submit a letter to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources urging the agency to order public water systems in the state to test for PFAS.

Act 101, legislation that regulates firefighting foam that contains PFAS, goes into effect. The Act gives DNR the authority to promulgate rules to implement and administer the act.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services recommends groundwater standards for PFOA and PFOS in order to protect human health. The agency recommends an additional 16 groundwater standards for PFAS in November.
